training

In the year 2003 we launched professional training programme recognized by the Ministry of Education of Slovak republic, more than 555 participants of these courses.
Consists of four modules:

1. Enology
2. Sommelier and gastronomy
3. Sommelier and spirits, mixed drinks and beer
4. Sommelier and coffee, tea and cigars

The goal of the course is to deliver to every participant knowledge and experience about:

- enology
- geographic viticulture, oenographic viticulture
- practical skills – serving wine
- tasting technique
- basic rules of matching food and wine
- basic knowledge abour spirit and beer production and their serving
- practical skill – preparation of mixed drinks
- basic knowledge about coffee and tea growing, types and serving
- basic knowledge about cigars and their serving

In the end of every module all the participants have to pass through written, verbal and practical exam. After successfull passing through all the exams in all four courses participant receives official certificate Sommelier professional with the accreditation of the Association of Sommeliers of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.
It lasts 140 hours and is realized during 10 months.

General meeting of all the members once a year, meetings of presidium once a month, regular tutored tastings for members, Promoting a profession of a sommelier through the media – regular publications about wine tasting in professional wine and gastronomy magazines, active participation in wine exhibitions in Slovakia.
