Tradition, Theoretical and Practical knowledge of the Wines (basic courses). Wine tasting and recognition (tasting course).courses on how to harmonize wine with food. Specialized courses: annual courses are organized, regarding viticultural countries and areas, and approaching in detail the characteristics of their wines. Legislation, types of grounds, climates, wine making methods, cultivated grape varieties, labels of origin, etc. Sometimes, wine representatives of the presented countries or areas are the subject of a tasting (French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Californian, , Chilean, South-African and Australian wines). The Association also proposes courses intended only for professionals. Advanced courses are proposed to the members who attended the first two courses and wish to go further with tasting training; these courses gather 7 people and are directed by a monitor.

Lectures given by Brazilian and foreign specialists on aspects of wine activities and tastings. Directed wine tastings, carried out monthly and where wines of an area or a determined category are analyzed; vertical tastings (different vintages of the same wine), etc. Tasting groups. Guided Tours: trips to Serra Gau´cha: each year. 4 didactic trips to Serra Gau´cha are carried out, because of its viticultural interest, and its representativeness a national industry. These journeys are an opportunity to practice what was presented in the theoretical lessons. Trips abroad: journeys are also organized in the viticultural countries, the visits relating to their most representative areas in this field. The association also works to promote lectures and tastings in restaurants, clubs and closed condominiums, by guiding the public and letting people learn about wine through fairs and wine launchings. As a Member country of the ASI, Brazil took part, through the association, in all the international congresses and contests, in particular with the Best Sommelier of the World Competition. We were selected to play host to the 7th Best Sommelier of the World Competition held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Lectures and Congresses in Uruguay, Chile and Argentina.
